🌱 Chief Sustainability Officer

🚀 Key Responsibilities

🌍 Develop and execute the company’s enterprise-wide sustainability and ESG strategy aligned with long-term business objectives. 📊 Establish sustainability goals, KPIs, reporting frameworks, and performance targets across the organization. ♻️ Lead initiatives related to carbon reduction, energy efficiency, waste management, resource conservation, and environmental impact. 🌱 Integrate sustainability principles into corporate strategy, operations, supply chain, product development, procurement, and investment decisions. 📈 Monitor ESG performance, identify improvement opportunities, and provide regular reports to the CEO, executive leadership team, and Board.

📑 Oversee sustainability reporting, disclosures, data collection, and compliance with applicable ESG and environmental requirements.

🤝 Collaborate with Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, Legal, Risk, HR, Marketing, and other functions to embed sustainability into business processes. 🔎 Monitor evolving environmental regulations, sustainability standards, industry trends, stakeholder expectations, and emerging risks. 🌐 Develop relationships with regulators, investors, customers, suppliers, industry organizations, sustainability partners, and external stakeholders. 💡 Identify opportunities where sustainability can improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, strengthen brand value, and support long-term growth. 🏭 Lead sustainability programs across facilities, supply chains, products, and global operations. 📋 Establish governance frameworks, policies, controls, and accountability mechanisms for sustainability and ESG initiatives. 👥 Build and lead sustainability teams and cross-functional working groups while promoting a strong culture of environmental and social responsibility.

🎓 Experience Requirements

15+ years of progressive experience in sustainability, ESG, environmental management, corporate strategy, operations, risk management, or a related field. 7+ years of experience in senior management or executive leadership roles, preferably with enterprise-wide sustainability responsibility. Proven experience developing and implementing corporate sustainability / ESG strategies across complex organizations. Strong knowledge of environmental sustainability, ESG frameworks, climate strategy, carbon management, sustainability reporting, and corporate governance. Demonstrated experience managing large-scale sustainability initiatives, cross-functional programs, budgets, and performance metrics. Experience working with CEO-level executives, Boards of Directors, investors, regulators, customers, and external stakeholders. Strong understanding of sustainability-related regulations, reporting standards, risk management, and industry best practices.

Excellent strategic planning, analytical, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder-management skills.

Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Business, Engineering, Finance, Public Policy, or a related discipline required; Master’s degree or MBA preferred. Relevant professional certifications in ESG, sustainability, environmental management, or related disciplines are preferred.
